Our History

Pure Life Assembly (PLA) was founded in 2011 at Saselamani village, under Malamulele Municipality by Senior Pastor Mkhacani Donald (M.D) Mathonsi also known as Pastor M.D Mathonsi. Pastor Mathonsi was born again in 1988 at Saselamani AFM under Bishop Shikwambani’s ministry. Pastor Mathonsi holds a degree in Theology and has served in the ministry of Jesus Mighty Wind from 1989 as a young evangelist where he used to travel from one village to another spreading the gospel and winning souls for Jesus. In 2011 he began preaching from house to house at Saselamani and the neighbouring villages. Many people gave their lives to Christ and he began to hold church meetings at schools. The converts continued to assemble at school premises until 2017. Pastor Mathonsi received a vision to establish a permanent site for the church. In 2018 a site was applied for and the site was granted. The site was established to erect a temporary shelter for worship and God has been adding more people who are saved.

Our Beliefs

We believe in Salvation that comes through the believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that ‘God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.’ We believe that the Bible is the infallible word of God and that it is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks.

Our beliefs includes the following

• Salvation through Jesus Christ who was born through the virgin Marry.

• There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

• Man is created in the image of God. We believe in pursuing righteousness.

• We believe in the work and power of the Holy Spirit.

• We believe in the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

• The Lord Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to disciple people of every nation .

Our Vision and Mission

Our vision is to win souls to Christ and is rooted in the great commission found in Mark 16:15-18 which is to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” Pure Life Assembly aims to establish a big assembly which will accommodate people from all walks of life and to create a platform for every person who wants to experience true salvation.
